HappyGreenBee Sportsuit Review *GIVEAWAY*

11:43 AM Posted by Erin

When it comes to swimwear, I want my daughter to be comfortable. I hate swimsuits that ride up, fall down, or hit in spots that are unbecoming. My husband on the other hand is obsessed with modesty. Now I love a good bikini and think they look adorable on little girls but he believes our daughter should be covered at all times. We were both thrilled when we received the adorable cotton sportsuit in watermelon/sky by HappyGreenBee, our favorite organic designer of children's clothes. It has the perfect mix of child style, comfort, and best of all eco friendly to keep all of us happy. Now why is eco friendly important to us: Organic cotton is especially great for infants and children. Whereas pesticide and chemically-treated clothing traps heat and prevents skin from absorbing adequate moisture—often causing rashes and eczema on sensitive skin—organic cotton is natural and breathable. Children with allergies particularly benefit, as organic cotton does not have the residual toxic residues that linger on conventional cotton. Even those without sensitive skin find organic cotton more comfortable and kid-friendly. The longer fibers stretch as children grow.

The first thing I fell in love with was the softness and natural stretch of the sportsuit and of course the vibrancy of the trademark HappyGreenBee stripes. Bonus that it matches the watermelon/sky tights that we reviewed this past spring. My daughter did ballet over the summer and I kept staring at this sportsuit in her drawer. It's made of 100% organic cotton and doesn't scream swimsuit, although it looked great at the water park. I repeatedly asked myself, am I brave enough to put my daughter in something so bold, so look-at-me in a sea of pastel ballerinas? Finally, one Saturday I bit the bullet and we arrived to class wearing our full HappyGreenBee getup. She definitely got kudos from the parents and even the teacher loved her bright little look and the suit performed perfectly for dance class as well as the pool.

HappyGreenBee makes something for every little bee, from reversible hoodies to A-line sundresses to sweet cloth dolls in maching fabrics to coordinate with. Their best deals can be found in their Factory Store where selection changes frequently and all orders over $15 are shipped absolutely free. Get your own HappyGreenBee available online at their site.

YoBaby Yogurt Review *GIVEAWAY*

12:56 PM Posted by Erin

In our house, we try to feed our daughter as healthy as possible and one food she loves is YoBaby Yogurt. She's been eating it since she she started solids at 6 months old and still loves the creamy taste and silky texture of the original vanilla and banana variety best. She's three now and we continue to put a YoBaby Yogurt cup in her lunch box every day. We recently tried the drinkable version in peach and were really pleased with the flavor and of course the convenience and portability of this healthy snack. Now you may wonder, what make YoBaby Yogurt so good for babies and toddlers? Well, it's the only yogurt specifically created with baby in mind. Made with organic whole milk like pediatricians recommend for babies and children under two to encourage brain growth, YoBaby contains several ingredients essential to baby. Iron, live active cultures for immune system support, and Omega-3 fatty acids like DHA make this the perfect food to get little one on track for a lifetime of healthy food choices. Have you tried YoBaby yet?

A Better Way to Sleep: Natural Mat Review

10:19 AM Posted by Erin

Every new parent wants to be sure their baby gets the highest quality sleep possible since its the time when their brains and vital organs develop (source SoundSleeping.org). Making sure baby is on the best sleep surface possible should be a top priority. This is where the Natural Mat comes in. Natural Mat is a company created by two sailors in England frustrated by the quality of synthetic mattresses found on boats. Deciding to look for and eventually develop their own line of natural mattresses led to the creation of the baby product line. Featuring three premier mattresses; the Coco Mat, Latex Mat, and luxurious Mohair Mat each offer parents the ability to find a bed baby can love. Since they're made from 100% organic materials and hypoallergenic, they're safe for your baby's dellicate skin. Natural fibers also provide higher levels of support and far better ventilation than any synthetic foam or coil springs.

Natural Mat recently sent us their Cotton Sheet (RTV $45) to review and I was really impressed. The soft, unbleached and undyed cotton percale provided a neutral color that blends in well with any decor. Since my daughter is well past the crib stage, I asked my sister to try this on her newborn's bed. Now my sister is a real "Green" mama and is resistant to using anything for her baby that is chemically processed. The fact that the Natural Mat Cotton Sheet is undyed meant she didn't have to worry about any irritants harming her daughter's sensitive skin and the natural fibers kept Baby K cool and comfy. She reports baby girl got a very good nights rest on her cozy new cotton sheet.

MixMyGranola Review *GIVEAWAY*

**CONTEST CLOSED**

I have found love and it goes by the name of MixMyGranola. I was stoked when asked if I'd be interested in trying custom created granola. Gourmet and organic food? I am so there! Although, I've never been much into granola, I figured it'd be fun making my own blend. I had a great time perusing their attractive and colorful site with my husband as we worked on our Mix. It was hard to decide with four granola bases, mix-ins like fruit, nuts, and the not so healthy options such as organic gummy bears and candy corn. Our heads were spinning with all our options, which means your own mix is full of endless possibilities, but we were able to narrow it down and soon our blend was created which we dubbed Sir-Mix-A-Lot (you can name your blend too!). We were even able to see Sir's nutrional value right on the page with their Nutrition Calculator. After that came the waiting part. By the time we'd finished our transaction we were salivating and hoped the folks at Mixmygranola would hurry up and get to mixing. We were happily surprised by the next afternoon to receive an email that our Mix had been created and was ready to ship. The very next day we got home to find our sleek MixMyGranola tube waiting for us on our front porch.
We didn't hesitate to crack it open and were blown away with the quality and freshness of our blend. Every ingredient was crisp, crunchy, and chewy just like it should be. Both my husband and I were hooked from the first bite. It was so delicious straight out of the can, with milk like cereal, on yogurt, or as a healthy topping on ice cream. We ripped right through our Mix within two days and were sad to reach the bottom of the canister.

We're already contemplating our next blend although we'll have to save up a bit first. The only negative we could find on MixMyGranola is that custom created granola ain't cheap. Our blend cost $17.49 which includes $4.99 for shipping so this is definitely a luxury item. Hopefully they'll be able to lower their prices as their company continues to take off but in the meantime, it's a really great idea and a fantastic product. If you're looking for something different for mom, MixMyGranola would make a great gift for Mother's Day. It's a healthy present for teacher's last day, and a thoughtful birthday present for the guy who has everything. Or just be selfish and get some for yourself.

Happy Green Bee Review *GIVEAWAY*

**CONTEST CLOSED**
Will Happy Green Bee Clothing make you irresistible to animals?

Perhaps not, but it's a tough call. Happy Green Bee is a wonderful new company started by Roxanne Quimby, who along with her partner, also began Burt's Bees in 1989. Now, she's moved on to designing beautiful organic clothes for babies and children. Her clothes are made with cotton untreated by pesticides, toxic dyes, or chemical bleaches. And why is that important? Organic cotton is especially great for infants and children.

Happy Green Bee creates clothes that are bright, fun, and ecologically responsible, which makes the animals and my daughter very happy. We were lucky enough to try these adorable tights you see her wearing in watermelon and sky and oh my were they a hit! They are wonderfully made with nice thick fibers, terrific stretch, and durability. And this was a day of crouching, kneeling, and horseback riding. The tights wore like a glove and looked fabulous at the end of the day. I only wish I could have a pair in every color combination they come in, not to mention dress, cardigan, leggings, skort... well you get the point. Happy Green Bee, you have my address. And lucky for you, they can have yours too because these lovely folks are offering a pair of tights for your little one to try too. Just follow the directions and you're on the way to a very stylish, very Green, little girl.

The Details: One lucky reader will receive their choice and size of tights from Happy Green Bee. The rules: Visit Happy Green Bee and tell me which of their clothing articles is your favorite AND tell me which tights you'd want and the size.
