MixMyGranola Review *GIVEAWAY*
10:14 PM Posted by Erin

We didn't hesitate to crack it open and were blown away with the quality and freshness of our blend. Every ingredient was crisp, crunchy, and chewy just like it should be. Both my husband and I were hooked from the first bite. It was so delicious straight out of the can, with milk like cereal, on yogurt, or as a healthy topping on ice cream. We ripped right through our Mix within two days and were sad to reach the bottom of the canister.

We're already contemplating our next blend although we'll have to save up a bit first. The only negative we could find on MixMyGranola is that custom created granola ain't cheap. Our blend cost $17.49 which includes $4.99 for shipping so this is definitely a luxury item. Hopefully they'll be able to lower their prices as their company continues to take off but in the meantime, it's a really great idea and a fantastic product. If you're looking for something different for mom, MixMyGranola would make a great gift for Mother's Day. It's a healthy present for teacher's last day, and a thoughtful birthday present for the guy who has everything. Or just be selfish and get some for yourself.
Want It? Win it?
MixMyGranola is giving a very yum-worthy giftcard worth $20 to one lucky person.
The Details: One lucky winner will receive a $20 giftcard to MixMyGranola to create their very own custom granola mix. The Rules: Visit MixMyGranola and tell me three ingredients you'd want in your mix. Bonus Entry: Tell me what you'd name your mix.

Bobinette: Boys Giveaway!
10:44 PM Posted by Erin

I don't have a son so I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to anything boy. Case in point, last weekend we had birthday parties to attend for two of my daughters boyfriends (yes, she is a playa) and you would have found This Mom roaming the toy aisles of Target with a faraway glaze over my eyes wondering "What on Earth do boys play with?" Man! The small male species is a huge mystery. Come to think of it, the large male species can be quite confounding as well. Give me princesses and tutus any day and I am completely at home. Still, there is one thing I am quite sure of when it comes to boys. If I ever have a son, he will definitely wear clothes by Bobinette!

This fantastic brand came about when designer Lorraine Le Tac had her first son Spencer, 7 years ago. Living in New York at the time, she'd scour the city searching for clothes for her new baby boy. Finding only clothes that were boring and conservative inspired her to begin Bobinette. Now with two year old son Matisse on board as well, her resolve to bring style and fashion to boy apparel has deepened ever more. Born in Paris and raised by a talented mother who instilled in her a sense of style, Lorraine draws her inspiration from her French background, nature, playing children, and western travel, among many other places. Bobinette's trendy designs feature the natural fabrics Lorraine is fond of; cotton (organic), linen. Cotton is the best! It comes in so many shapes and forms - crinkled like gauze, textured like seersucker, soft and stretchy like cotton knits... I also like fleece because it is fluffy, comfortable and warm for winter clothes - perfect for baby jackets!
Bobinette yearns to bring more color and style to all little boys around the globe! These stylish clothes almost makes me wish I could trade away hairbows for tonka trucks. Almost. In the meanwhile, hip moms of boys can purchase Bobinette in local retail stores.
Win It: One lucky little guy gets to look ultra handsome in the two pieces, Oscar and Ziggy from Bobinette's Spring/Summer line featured in this post.
The Details: One lucky winner will receive a complete Spring outfit by Bobinette in Oscar Blue Swirls and Ziggy grey linen (sz 12m-6 years). The Rules: Visit Bobinette and tell me your favorite item from any of their lines.

Hoity Toity Baby *GIVEAWAY*
1:59 PM Posted by Erin

The creation of a mother of twins, Hoity Toity Baby began in 2008 when designer Nicole inherited her late Grandmother’s sewing machine and a visiting Aunt taught her to use it. She became hooked and found she was good at it too! Each trendy design is lovingly selected by Nicole herself and she creates every garment to order. Constructed from 100% cotton, all of Hoity Toity’s shirts, dresses, and pants are fashioned with distinctive and unique fabrics.

The Boca and South Beach Collections were inspired by familiar sites and scenes. Says Nicole, “I love the clothes to be something that looks chic, but at the same time age appropriate. The Boca Collection came from making the outfit and seeing it on my daughter for the first time. It honestly looked like something a well-to-do woman from Boca Raton would wear to meet her friends for lunch. And things just took off from there. The SoBe dress....the same thing. It looks like a dress that a young, beautiful woman would wear with a pair of flip-flops while lunching on South Beach.” Now one special little girl will get to look like she just stepped off the beach herself! Hoity Toity Baby is generously allowing one reader to receive her beautiful SoBe Dress. Featuring a criss-cross back and empire waist, this stylish little dress is just perfect for the warm weather months!
The Details: One lucky girl will receive the adorable SoBe Dress from Hoity Toity Baby. The Rules: Visit Hoity Toity and let me know which fashion is your favorite.

Urbanity Studios *GIVEAWAY*
9:43 PM Posted by Erin

But why stop at just birth announcements? There is something at Urbanity for every milestone of life... Birthday...

Engagement...

And of course the day every girl dreams of, complete with a wedding invitation designed with class and elegance...

The creation of a bride who could not find the perfect wedding invitation to represent her special day, Meghann Kopecky's desire for elegance and individuality eventually started her down the path to creating her own design firm specializing in stationary, invitations, and announcements. Each of her Urbanity Studio creations are full of personality. The whimsical cards come printed on high quality card stock paper and personalization is welcomed here with most colors being changeable to suit your tastes. Most importantly, the company prides itself on the highest customer service standards in the industry. They're so sure you'll be delighted with their product that they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee!
We received a sample pack to review and I have to say their cards are completely adorable. I fell in love with their Princess Party invitation for Rachel's next birthday as she is in a very strong Queen Bee phase at this point. I adore the vibrant colors of all the cards I saw and fell for the trendy motif each one presented.
You know who else loves Urbanity? The O herself. Oprah Winfrey chose Urbanity Studios' Message in a Bottle as one of her favorite things in O Magazine, saying the bottles are a "fun way to send an invitation, a thank-you, or a note announcing that you're currently shipwrecked." How cool is that?! Even more cool? You can see why these chic cards made her list because Urbanity is giving one lucky reader the chance to win a $25 credit to any product in their shop, including design fees. Now the hard part is deciding exactly how you'll spend the loot!
The Details: One lucky reader will a $25 credit to be used at Urbanity Studios. The Rules: Visit Urbanity and let me know exactly what you'd spend your winnings on.

Retro Family Works *GIVEAWAY*
9:37 PM Posted by Erin

There is nothing like handmade. It's the joy of knowing someone made something just for you with all the love that goes with it. That's why I am so thrilled to feature Retro Family Works. Influenced by a collection of vintage patterns and a love of beautiful cotton fabrics, Linda the designer behind Retro Family Works began making clothes at a very young age. She found her passion in constructing children's clothes when her three older children were born in the 80's and her love of creating was reignited when her youngest child was born five years ago. A vintage dress for her little girl sparked the beginning of her Etsy Shop.

We were lucky enough to receive her adorable "Chicken Dress" to review and I was blown away by the cuteness factor of this garment. I mean, how often does one get to wear a dress covered in roosters? This whimsical little A-line is perfection and it's construction is to die for. Linda takes the utmost care when putting together her clothing. It's hard not to be impressed with the design and finishing.

Retro Family Works is all about working on new challenges and the tendency to make one of a kind garments rather than producing the same ones over and over again. Linda likes to work with customers to produce custom garments that are exactly what they’re looking for.
And that's what this giveaway is all about. One very fortunate person will get to work with Linda to create their perfect outfit based on her designs. Thanks so much to Linda for allowing this opportunity!
The Details: One lucky winner will receive their own custom outfit from Retro Family Works based on any current or former design (check her sold items for listings). The Rule: Visit the shop and let me know which outfit you'd like to make your own.

The Lucky Giveaway- Flashcard Zoo
9:27 PM Posted by Erin

Sometimes you just get lucky, like being in the right place at the right time. Or meeting someone who is just so terrific you feel like you've known them forever. I'm calling this my "lucky giveaway" because on Friday night the very cool Ann Again... and again hosts a Virtual Girls Night Out where ladies (and perhaps men?) play along with her party game, go blog hopping and get to see some cool blogs you may not have known about or seen otherwise.
This Friday, I played my first game and came across this awesome and completely original blog Flashcard Zoo by the multifaceted talent, Shannah Pace. Her story is unbelievable... She went from being a singing teacher with a Master's in vocal performance, to a soprano opera singer in NYC, to becoming a wife and dedicated stay-at-home mom of an adorable little boy. But as she says, you cannot take the artiste out of the artist.
While attempting to potty train her easily distracted son, inspiration hit. In a fit of creativity she realized she could keep him entertained as well as educated with customized alphabet photo flashcards. She began with easy ones..."Mommy", "Daddy", "Nana"... and progressed to more complex flashcards until amazingly, it worked! Her little boy was potty trained and knew his alphabet. How's that for multi-tasking?
Soon after, Shannah realized her little project with her son was a great learning tool for other parents as well. She began compiling a library of fantastic pictures from photographer's all over the world and if she couldn't find or get permission for one she wanted, she went out and took her own. This way parents could choose the perfect alphabet for their munchkin.
As Shannah explained, "By the time I'd compiled the photos, Munchkin had thoroughly learned all his letters and numbers and sitting down with his flashcards was just so “last month”. I decided that if he was going to learn his alphabet that fast, I needed to find a way to make the flashcards useful for a lot longer. It finally occurred to me that Munchkins don’t just need to learn their alphabet and numbers. They have to learn to write their alphabet and numbers as well. The double-sided flashcard was born."
I myself am completely in love with Flashcard Zoo's product. I really enjoy how organically Shannah seemed to come up with her creation. Her cards are virtually indestructible, tried and trusted, and a fun, creative way to teach your child. And this is why I am calling this post "The Lucky Giveaway" because one very fortunate person will be receiving their very own set of Flashcard Zoo cards from "Our Faves" collection.

And because Shannah is so wonderful, she is also giving my readers 15% off any of Flashcard Zoo's products until March 23rd. Just mention This Mom Shops in the "message to seller" during PayPal check-out and you'll receive a partial refund reflecting the 15% off. So you tell me, how lucky is that?
The Details: One lucky reader will receive one set of Flashcard Zoo's "Our Faves" collection of cards. The rule: visit Flashcard Zoo's shop and tell me one thing about the cards not mentioned in this post.
