Today is the last day of World Breastfeeding Awareness Month and I couldn't think of any better way to cap my series off than with a feature from my favorite nursing tank company, Glamourmom. A great bra is the foundation of any outfit. When you have one you love it can change the way you carry yourself, making you feel confident and pulled together. Even before my daughter was born, I just knew I wanted to breastfeed. I was bound and determined that failure was not an option. We mucked through some very difficult first days, battling our obstacles, until finally I shut the two of us in my room and worked until we figured it all out, emerging a successful nursing mom and baby. After that, it was time to venture outside of the house and into the world. But with that came the new stress of finding ways to discretely nurse in public. Thus began my search for the perfect nursing tank. I tried several brands before finally discovering Glamourmom. I'd seen them in magazines and online but I wondered how different can one top be from the next? I was pleasantly surprised when I received their Glamourmom Nursing Bra Long Tank in navy to review.
The top stands apart from others in several ways; first off the stretch factor. Glamourmom's tanks are wonderfully constructed with 92% cotton, 8% elastane. Other tops that I've tried don't have as much recovery which means they lose their shape quickly and soon your top is loose and unflattering but the Glamourmom tank retained its shape and looked exactly the same after several washings. Next the mesh lining of the built in soft cup nursing bra keeps moisture away from the skin which is exactly what every woman wants. Finally, the length of the long tank I tried was awesome especially with those extra postpartum pounds, you can feel comfortable and less worried about ride up or exposing your tummy or back. Extra inches also make it a perfect transition tank for the last few months of pregnancy. Glamourmom isn't just stuck on tanks anymore either. They've brought their wonderful style to pyjamas, swimsuits, and slip dresses as well. Although their prices aren't exactly cheap with tanks running $34-$39, they do have limited stock items and a Color of the Month option for slightly less. However, don't consider this a splurge if you're a nursing mom. You'll love this tank and want to wear it every day. It's the essential stand alone top but thin enough to layer too.
