(Not Even) Wordless Wednesday: Maternity Shoot

This past weekend, I was asked to photograph Chelsea and Ryan. Both US Marines stationed in North Carolina, they were in town to celebrate their baby shower with family and friends. I've known Chelsea since she was a little girl so it was an extra proud moment to see what a great little family she's forming. And you can just tell their son is going to be gorgeous!

Later in the day at the shower after opening all their gifts, Ryan gave the mom-to-be one last present. He got down on one knee, in front of all of us guests and asked Chelsea to be his wife. I've been to plenty of baby showers in my day, but this one definitely beats all.

Cirque Du Soleil

Being a mom blogger has it's many advantages and benefits and we just received the best one yet last night. MomSelect sent my family to the circus and not just any circus, Cirque Du Soleil's production of Saltimbanco. Translated, Saltimbanco means to "To jump on a bench." Makes sense as we were practically jumping in our seats the entire time. Beauty, drama, and comedy were all presented in this breathtaking performance. Here's what Cirque Du Soleil's website says about the show...
Saltimbanco explores the urban experience in all its myriad forms: the people who live there, their idiosyncrasies and likenesses, families and groups, the hustle and bustle of the street and the towering heights of skyscrapers. Between whirlwind an and lull, prowess and poetry, Saltimbanco takes spectators on an allegorical and acrobatic journey into the heart of the city.

It was human art, candy for the spirit and soul. Words cannot express the feelings we got while experiencing this show. Strong men and beautiful women entertained us with their power and grace as the jester, almost a mime who used his mouth for hilarious sound effect, kept us smiling the whole time. South Florida residents can see Saltimbanco at the Bank Atlantic Center now through June 7th. Use MomSelect's code to get the discounted Special Family Four Pack offer. If you get the chance to attend Cirque Du Soleil and especially the Saltimbanco performance, jump on it. It is the experience of a lifetime!
A Thousand Word Thursday: New Beginnings

I'm a mom and wife, a fulltime employee, part time blogger, and now my newest career... maternity photographer. I adore the beauty of pregnancy. There is just something so magical about a woman blooming with child and I feel so lucky to be a part of capturing the memory. This is the gorgeous N, my second victim, er subject and first ever paying customer. We had a wonderful time at the beach last weekend, even if I did have to wake up at 5 am to catch the sunrise. It was so worth it!

A Thousand Words Thursday
10:39 AM Posted by Erin

This is my first Thousand Words Thursday, which is hosted by my good friend Jen at Cheaper than Therapy. Yesterday evening we took my daughter to the ocean for photos. I've been dying to get some new beach pictures of her and the weather finally cooperated. She is growing so fast, I am still in awe on how my baby has somehow become a little lady. Is it not possible to just press pause so she will always be so innocent and beautiful? Good thing I'll have this photo to remember how she enjoyed her childhood especially when she becomes an insolent teenager. I love how she was laughing at another little girl she found to play with (out of shot). If only we could all make friends so easily and with such abandon.
