Philosophy, that wonderful company you know and love for their terrific scented bath products and fun, uplifting, and often inspirational packaging has recently teamed up with an organization for a very important cause. 100% of all sales from August 15th – October 15th of their deliciously aromatic, Oatmeal Raisin high foaming shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath 3-in-1 will benefit Cookies for Kids’ Cancer.
Did you know...

Ø Pediatric cancer is referred to as an “orphan disease” because there is little or no profit to be made by the pharmaceutical companies and the reason why they ignore pediatric cancers for the most part.

Ø Each year in the U.S., nearly 13,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer. That’s the equivalent of two average size classrooms diagnosed each school day.

Ø Today about 75% of children diagnosed with cancer become long-term survivors yet in the U.S. cancer remains the leading cause of death from one year through adolescence; more than any other disease. In the early 1950s, less than 10 percent of childhood cancer patients could be cured, proof that research can and is making a difference.

Ø Historically, some of the most basic and essential treatment strategies now employed in the fight against cancer – such as multi-agent chemotherapy and combined modality therapy – were developed through pediatric cancer research.

Ø In the U.S., combined, the cancers of children, adolescents and young adults to age 20 are the sixth most common cancer in the U.S.

Ø Recent reports indicate that nearly two-thirds of childhood cancer survivors experience significant medical problems resulting from their original cancer and/or its treatment.

Cookies For Kids' Cancer is dedicated to funding research for new and improved treatment for pediatric cancers by making it easy to support and fund raise for this worthy charity through bake sale drives. By offering four easy steps to follow from planning to sale, the organization offers several tips to creating a successful initiative. Their own cookies are also available for sale on their site, with 70% of all profits directly benefiting research.

Get involved with Cookies For Kids' Cancer by finding out how your contribution helps this very worthy cause and support Philosophy's donation by purchasing their Oatmeal Raisin 3-in-1 wash on their website.

Feature: So-Me Designs *GIVEAWAY*

**CONTEST CLOSED**
Being fashion conscious and socially conscious do not have to be mutually exclusive. When Somy Ali created her t-shirt line So-Me Designs she thought above all those degrading messages many other clothing companies were printing, such as "Blondes Do It Better" or "Who Needs Brains When You Have These". Deciding to focus on human rights issues was personal to Somy. As a follower of Ghandi, she wanted to take a stand against all intolerance through the aid of fashion.

The first shirt in the So-Me Designs line was "Human Being" with four religious symbols. As a Pakistani born Muslim who came to the US at the age of nine and later lived in India as a teenager, Somy learned that religion has nothing to do with whether a person is good or bad but what bonds us is the fact that we are all human. "It's sad to see the wars over religion and innocent lives lost over religious differences, whereas, we are all one. It really hurts me to see so much hatred for one another so I wanted the "Human Being" shirt to emphasize the fact that we are all Humans and nothing can be a stronger bond than that. It's so simple, yet many have made it so complex and that's what's sad. "

All of So-Me Designs shirts focus on a particular human rights or environmental issue. It's about being a voice for the voiceless, taking a stand for those that seek justice but never receive it. Somy's desire is to start a movement amongst the youth, sending a message that "Fashion Does Not Have to Be Stupid". Being hip doesn't mean you can't take a stand for someone and fight for justice.

It's not all about fashion either, Somy is working through her charity, No More Tears to change the lives of women and children faced with domestic violence issues. Her organization assists with legal counsel, financial assistance, and psychotherapy. They help these women in not only wiping away the tears, but also making sure that there are No More Tears!

Somy has created a beautiful t-shirt line with an inspiring, motivational message. This beautiful woman has put a name and face to many important causes and she's also being generous enough to share her message with one of my readers. One very blessed reader will receive So-Me Designs Designs Human Being shirt. Thanks so much Somy and please keep up your wonderful work!

The Details: One fortunate reader will receive So-Me Designs shirt 'Human Being' in Man or Woman's style. The Rules: Visit So-Me and tell me which of her shirts speak to you.
