Every day, due to this poor economy pet owners are having to make the heart wrenching decision to surrender their pets to shelters around the country. As a result, already crowded animal shelters must cope with an increase in occupancy and a decrease in financial donations to support these animals.
Rescues & Runways in association with the ASPCA has found the perfect affordable piece of jewelry for showing your furbaby just how dedicated you are to them while also supporting those less fortunate animals who are still looking for lifelong family. Support this program by visiting your local maurices to make your donation, adopting a friend for life from your nearby shelter, and finding out more about Rescues & Runways on their site. Follow maurices on Facebook for further updates on this project and more.
To benefit these shelters and the animals they help, maurices has partnered with the ASPCA to create Rescues & Runways. More than 730 maurices stores across the country will each host their own Rescues & Runways fashion show featuring four-legged, furry friends from local animal shelters in the month of September. In addition to the fashion show, all maurices stores will be accepting pet food and supply donations in their stores in September to benefit their local animal shelter partner. Finally, beginning mid-September, all stores will be selling an exclusive, limited edition Friends for Life pet charm that celebrates the special bond people have with their pets. The charms will cost $5 with $2.50 of each sale going to the ASPCA to help support their national shelter outreach program.
