Before my baby girl turned into a child, I had no idea how important it was for parents to help their kids become independent. I also had no idea how determined my kid would be to "do it myself". She chooses her clothes for school, brushes her own hair (that mom comes back and rebrushes) and puts on her shoes. Being self reliant is not only important, it is crucial to get my daughter out of the door as quickly as possible with the least amount of tantrums. I'm constantly on the lookout for products that foster her growth to becoming a self-sufficient child. When I heard about Myself Belts, I just had to learn more. What are these belts all about? We received the very girly Ballet Belt in Medium (age 4) for my daughter to review and it was the perfect choice. Light pink cotton webbing with a light pink ribbon with just a hint of glitter sewn on, the belt is durable and attractive. One side folds over to snap onto her belt loop to keep it firmly in place, with the other a velcro closure. Once weaved through the loops the opposite end connects to the velcro for a secure, yet easily removeable attachment. Obviously your child won't be able to handle the weaving themself but once on, pants will stay up and potty breaks will be handled with "I did it myself" pride!

I like the Purple Heart belt for a XS little girl. We are going to start potty training soon and my "skinny minny" has issues with her pants staying up so we use buckle belts. She cannot get these off very well so we need something that she can manuver to help speed the process. And she is sooooo independent this would make her head spin.

I like all the fun colors and my daughter loves pink, but I'd probably choose the Solid Brown Canvas Belt for her simply because then it would go with everything!

My daughter is definitely into showing her independence and wanting to do things herself. However, she is easily frustrated when she doesn't immediately succeed so things like dressing herself cause problems. That, combined with her being too skinny so that her pants all slide down, make it so that we could really use this belt.

Why I need a myself belt? Well, my daughter needs one because she is really tall & skinny, so for bottoms to fit her around her waist, they are high-waters... for them to be long enough, she looses her pants! I have looked for belts to fit her, but if I do, they are so complicated and the buckles are huge.... ugh!

Well I would pick the Solid Brown Canvas Belt since it would go with more outfits.. but I think the Flag Belt is adorable... Wee Man is in Pre-K and uses the bathroom there but he doesn't understand belts yet and well he is so skinny he has to have belts on so this would be wonderful weeshenanigans (at) gmail (dot) com
